ODC / Special Equipment Shipments :

An ODC is a cargo where the length, breadth or height is more than the standard container dimension (20 ft, 40 ft, 45 ft, high cube, Reefer). There are specially designed containers or special equipment to carry the ODC. The cargo bigger than these special equipments is moved through specially designed vessels having 500-1,000 tons gears or break-bulk vessels. The ODC generally consists of machineries, heavy-lifts, boilers, chemical filters, generators and storage tanks. From time to time, oil rigs are also moved, which comes under ODC. Persian Gulf, Europe and the Far East are the major markets for ODC.

Different types of special equipments or containers are used to move ODC, such as:

* Flat Rack containers, which are of two types, namely flat and collapsible, are used to move big trailers, buses and similar ODC. A Flat Rack container can accommodate a maximum of 37 tons.
* Flat Bed containers are utilized for carrying pipes and similar type of cargo. The maximum permissible weight is 37 tons. When the containers carrying ODC are loaded on the vessel, no more containers can be stacked over these ODC containers, which are special equipments. Since the slots in the stacks are missed, the cost is compensated by higher freight charges. Specially designed transport is required to move the ODC from hinterland to the gateway port or vice versa.

DDP/DDU Shipments

In "Delivered duty paid" means that the seller fulfils his obligation to deliver when the goods have been made available at the named place in the country of importation. The seller has to bear the risks and costs, including duties, taxes and other charges of delivering the goods thereto, cleared for importation. Whilst the EXW term represents the minimum obligation for the seller, DDP represents the maximum obligation. This term should not be used if the seller is unable directly or indirectly lo obtain the import license. If the parties wish the buyer to clear the goods for importation and to pay the duty, the term DDU should be used. If the parties wish to exclude from the seller's obligations some of the costs payable upon importation of the goods (such as value added tax(VAT)), this should be made clear by adding words to this effect: "Delivered duty paid, VAT unpaid ... (named place of destination)".This term may be used irrespective of the mode of transport.

The garments industry in India is one of the best in the world. An extremely well organized sector, garment manufacturers, exporters, suppliers, stockiest and wholesalers are the gateway to an extremely enterprising clothing and apparel industry in India. There are numerous garments exporters, garments manufacturers; readymade garments exporters etc. both in the small scale as well as large scale.

During April-December 1999-2000, textile exports were recorded as US $ 9735.2 million (Rs.440179.4 million), of which ready made garments comprised nearly 40%. Interestingly, almost ¼ of India's total exports goes to the USA.Indian readymade garments and textiles are extremely popular the world over. Today, garments exports from India have made inroads into the international market for their durability, quality and beauty. One of the reasons for the economical pricing of India's ready made garments and apparels is the availability of highly skilled, cheap labor in the country.

ISO Tank Container

Tank containers must be at least 80% full, to prevent dangerous surging of the liquids in transit. On the other hand, they must not as a rule be over 95% full, or there will not be sufficient ullage space for thermal expansion. The extent of thermal expansion may be calculated for each cargo on the basis of the formula. Tank containers intended for transporting foodstuffs must be labeled "Potable Liquids only".Some hazardous materials must be transported in tank containers with no in- or outlet openings below the surface of the liquid.Tank containers are generally designed for an operating pressure of up to 3 bar (above atmospheric). The test pressure used is 4.5 bar (above atmospheric). If the cargo requires temperature-controlled transport, tank containers can be equipped with insulation or heating. The temperature of the cargo may be precisely controlled using temperature sensors. Tank containers are used for liquid cargoes, such as foodstuffs, fruit Juices,Spirits,Sweet Oils and Chemical hazardous materials such as fuels, toxic substances, corrosion protection agents etc.

Temperature Controlled Shipment

Temperature controlled packaging is used when the contents of a delivery, usually food or medications, must be maintained at a certain temperature in order to prevent spoilage. Temperature controlled packaging usually guarantees that the shipped item or items will remain fresh and refrigerated for up to 96 hours from the time of shipment until delivery. Meats, medicines, vaccinations, and other refrigerated materials can safely be shipped from store to consumer or from drug supplier to pharmacist or doctor without any risk of contamination or spoilage. Temperature controlled packaging can generally hold two, five, or ten liters in varying sized boxes. Contents can be kept at 36° to 48° Fahrenheit (about 2° to 9° Celsius) for up to 96 hours in the standard package. If colder temperatures are necessary, a “plus” version of temperature controlled packaging is available which can keep items at –4° to 22° Fahrenheit (about -20° to 5½° Celsius). Typically, refrigerated contents must be shipped with dry ice. In temperature controlled packaging, there is no need for the potentially hazardous dry ice. Instead, temperature controlled packaging utilizes many layers of high quality insulation and regular ice and water to keep the interior contents at cold temperatures for up to four days.

Flexi Tank Containers

FLEXITANK is special equipment for transportation bulk non-hazardous cargoes, using the standard 20-foot container .It is a special, soft and tight tank with volume from 14 up to 24 thousand liters. FLEXITANK is produced from plastic material. In combined condition it occupies just 0,25 cubic meter. In FLEXITANK it is possible to transport almost any of non-hazardous liquids, both technical, and food application. Here are some of the  products which can be transported in FLEXITANK edible and animal oils and fats (liquid and solid), juices concentrates, juices, syrups, water, wine, treacle, food additives, pharmaceutical oils, malt, orbital, technical and industrial oils, technical additives, synthetic pitches, liquid cleaning means, emulsions, glycerin, some kinds of paints, ink, fertilizers, latex, transformer oils etc. Some liquids have properties to get thick during storage or at downturn of temperature. This will not allow to make effective unloading of a cargo. For this purpose we use heating pad which is installed together with FLEXITANK. It is used just before start of unloading using steam or hot water inside. This allows to increase temperature of a cargo.
